Gliwice Musical Theatre began operations in June 2001. It was created in place of the Silesian Operetta and Musical Theatre in Gliwice existed there since 1952. On their stages they were held Polish premieres of musicals Man of La Mancha M. Leigh, Hello, Dolly! J. Herman, Prime Minister operetta ideal of S. Moniuszko. They performed here by such artists as Maria Artykiewicz, Irene Brodzinska, Margaret Derdzianka, Xenia Grey, Wanda Polanska, Hanna Rutkowska, Stanislaw Ptak, Ryszard Wojtkowski.
