The parish was mentioned as early as in 1384 and the first Church in 1476. The second temple was funded in 1492 by Otto of Pilca in the middle of the sixteenth century converted by the owners of the Protestant Church.

In 1627 it returned to the Catholics, but it was burned down in 1750, the present Church began to be rebuilt probably on the site burned temple still in 1750 and the construction work continued until 1754. According to the tradition, it was "restored to its original form" by the efforts of the local parish rector the priest Jozef Napiórkowski, from the rector’s funds and the Commissioner of Lubomirskis, Mr. Szwarczewski as well as the donation of the parishioners. The new Church was rebuilt with partial use of the wood gained from an old, burned temple. Next to the Church there was a bell tower built around 1750 and it is preserved up to this day.
