The parish in Wietrzno was created in the sixteenth century, then the first wooden Church was built there. It was torn down about the middle of the eighteenth century. The currently existing temple was built in 1752 using elements of an earlier building.

The consecration of the Church took place in 1761, and in 1880 the Church was decorated with frescos by Leon Wroblewski. The Church had undergone the extensive rebuilding twice. The Church belongs to the type of eighteenth-century wooden sacral buildings architecture of the late gothic tradition of Małopolskie carpentry. The Church is oriented, divided in three parts, built in carcass construction, with the tower of pole-frame construction. The interior is mostly in late Baroque style from about the middle of the eighteenth century.
