If you would like to sit down within the lodge and listen to opera arias or watch a theatrical performance and experience the atmosphere at the turn of the 19th and 20th century you must visit the Juliusz Słowacki Memorial Theatre. The building was styled on the Parisian Opera House and built in the years 1891-1893 in place of demolished medieval hospitals. The entrance façade is decorated with allegorical figures called “Time to begin the Polonaise” inspired by Adam Mickiewicz’s national epic poem “Pan Tadeusz”. From there you are lead to a magnificent foyer via elaborate staircase. The stage with the lodges looks at its best with the famous painted curtain by Henryk Siemiaradzki.
